Your Favorite Charity 2019
Rules

• Contest runs from Monday, January 21, 2019 through Friday, March 1, 2019. 
• Charity nominations are accepted from Monday, January 21, 2019 through Friday, February 3, 2019. 
• Nominee must be a 501(c)3 public charity listed on www.justgive.org and be based in San Luis Obispo or Santa Barbara counties.
• Nominee’s programs must serve San Luis Obispo and/or Santa Barbara Counties.
• One (1) nomination form is required per non-profit. Numerous nomination forms will not increase your chance of winning any prize.
• Nominations will be verified by a panel of judges as qualifying 501(c)3 charities in San Luis Obispo and Santa Barbara counties. 
• A total of 20 charities will be chosen in the following categories:
            o Arts & Culture
            o Education & Youth Development
            o Environment & Animals
            o Health
            o Human Services & Community Development
• In the event of a tie, additional nominees may advance to the voting round. 
• Online voting runs from Monday, February 18, 2019 through Friday, March 1, 2019.
• One vote per person, per household, per category, per day. Multiple entries from the same person in the same day voids all entries throughout the contest period. 
• One (1) charity from each category will win a cash prize of $1,000.
• One (1) of the five (5) category winners will be selected as “Your Favorite Charity” and win an additional cash prize of $9,000 for a grand total of $10,000.
• Charities are ineligible to win in multiple categories.
• Prizes are non-transferable.
• No purchase necessary.
• To be eligible to vote, all voters must meet the following requirements:
            o Voters must provide their name, phone number and valid e-mail address.
            o Voters must show proof that they live and reside in San Luis Obispo or Santa Barbara counties.
            o Voters must hold a valid drivers license issued by the State of California or a valid California ID. 
            o Voters must be United States Citizens or legal residents.
            o Prize is non-transferable. Prize may not be exchanged.
            o KSBY will be the sole and final judge of eligibility and winner verification.
            o Winner’s entry, name, voice and likeness may be used for publicity, promotion and/or news purposes  without further compensation.
            o By acceptance of prize, winner assumes full responsibility for all applicable income taxes, sales taxes, license, and other fees that may apply.
• Employees of KSBY-TV, Halpin Leadership Industries, The Manse on Marsh and Idler’s Home, affiliates, their dependents and immediate families, as well as employees of other television stations are not eligible to win.
• KSBY Communications LLC, its parent, subsidiary, related and affiliated companies and their respective officers, directors employees and agents shall be released and discharged from any and all legal claims, losses injuries, demands, damages, actions, and /or causes of actions which arise out of and/or in any way related to the prize, the receipt, use and/or enjoyment of the prize and/or the Promotion.
• Halpin Leadership Industries, its parent, subsidiary, related and affiliated companies and their respective officers, directors employees and agents shall be released and discharged from any and all legal claims, losses injuries, demands, damages, actions, and /or causes of actions which arise out of and/or in any way related to the prize, the receipt, use and/or enjoyment of the prize and/or the Promotion.
• The Manse on Marsh, its parent, subsidiary, related and affiliated companies and their respective officers, directors employees and agents shall be released and discharged from any and all legal claims, losses injuries, demands, damages, actions, and /or causes of actions which arise out of and/or in any way related to the prize, the receipt, use and/or enjoyment of the prize and/or the Promotion.

• Idler’s Home, its parent, subsidiary, related and affiliated companies and their respective officers, directors employees and agents shall be released and discharged from any and all legal claims, losses injuries, demands, damages, actions, and /or causes of actions which arise out of and/or in any way related to the prize, the receipt, use and/or enjoyment of the prize and/or the Promotion.

• Winners will be notified on Wednesday, March 6, 2019. A winner notification email may be sent to all entrants.
• All entries become property of KSBY and will not be returned. False or deceptive entries or acts will render entrants ineligible.
• Participants waive any and all claims against KSBY Communications LLC and their affiliated companies and employees for injuries, damages or losses related to the contest.
• By entering, participants agree to be bound by these official rules and the decisions the sponsor, which shall be final in all matters pertaining to the contest. The sponsor may deem an entrant ineligible to participate in a contest if the entrant disregards the rules.
• KSBY Communications LLC does not discriminate in the sale of advertising time, and will accept no advertising during this promotion with an intent to discriminate on the basis of race or ethnicity. KSBY Communications LLC certifies that it is not utilizing broadcast time under this promotion for a discriminatory purpose, including but not limited to decisions not to place advertising on particular stations on the basis of race, gender, national origin or ancestry.
• The sponsor(s), its officers, agents, and employees are not responsible for and shall not be liable for:(1) garbled, illegible, incomplete, damaged, misdirected, late, lost, or failed entries; (2) telephone, electronic, decoder, hardware or software program, network, Internet, or computer malfunctions, failures or difficulties; (3) any condition caused by events beyond the control of the sponsor(s) which may cause the contest to be disrupted or corrupted; (4) any losses or damages of any kind caused by the prize or resulting from acceptance or use of the prize or resulting from acceptance or use of the prize, or from participation in the contest; (5) any printing or typographical errors in any materials associated with the promotion; or (6) use of person’s name, likeness, or voice. The sponsor(s) reserves the right, in its sole and absolute discretion, to suspend or cancel the promotion should virus, bugs, or other causes beyond the control of the sponsor(s) corrupt the administration, security, or proper play of the offering. The sponsor(s) further reserves the right to create a database to utilize the name, street address and e-mail address of an entrant for marketing or other purposes. California law shall apply to this promotion. Any claims must be resolved in the state of California.
• Winner certifies he or she has read, understands and will abide by all contest rules.
